The SEED Exchange: Maternal and Reproductive Health Trip to Accra, Ghana is intentionally curated for professionals and advocates committed to the advancement of initiatives to improve maternal and and reproductive health for people of African descent through their work and allocation of resources.
The yearly July trip is curated with the goal of collectively exploring avenues for cultural connection, intellectual exchange, and solution building between the diaspora to address maternal and reproductive health.Future trips launching in 2026 will provide opportunities by specialty area and interest for stakeholders outside outside of the diaspora.

Attendees will travel to Accra, Ghana in a cohort, and engage in a curated robust daily agenda facilitated by REPRA Health.
Sample activities will include a welcome luncheon, daily site-visits, interactions with stakeholders at private and government run hospitals, community health centers, public health institutions, non-profit organizations, and a closing private roundtable dinner.
We will also tour Accra, visit cultural and historical sites in Cape Coast, and experience the rich culture, food, music, and local people of Ghana together.
A finalized agenda will be sent to all attendees.

Ghana requires the Yellow Fever vaccination. This must be obtained prior to applying for the Ghana Visa.
Ghana is a tropical climate and there is a risk of getting Malaria at all times. Antimalarial medication is also recommended but not required.
Our travel preparation team will assist you in identifying locations to get your immunization and Malaria medication if desired as well as providing information on staying healthy during travel in Ghana.

A visa is required to travel to Ghana. The current cost for a single entry visa is $60 usd or $100 usd expedited.

Trip cost will range between 4500-5000. Your investment includes airport transfers, 7 nights double or single private lodging at a 4 star hotel or boutique, welcome dinner celebration, daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner*, ground transportation, entry to all tourist sites, cultural immersive experiences, stakeholder dinner, and maternal health site visits.
Attendees will be responsible for purchasing their airfare, travel visas, required travel vaccines, and medications, as well as travel insurance, and miscellaneous personal expenses.
We encourage budgeting an additional $300 - $500 for optional activities outside of the trip itinerary such as shopping for souvenirs, and traditional hair braiding while in Accra.
Organizers will work with local vendors to assist in planning additional activities for interested attendees.

Airfare to Accra fluctuates based on the season. Typical airfare in the summer ranges from $1800-$2400USD.
Direct flights are offered from New York with Delta Airlines and Washington D.C with United Airlines. There are however other airlines that offer flights to Accra for lower fares with 1-3 stops.
